Anya Larkin started her career hand paintings fabrics for couturier Mary McFadden and redirected her focus for wall treatments. She employs 25 artisans in her atelier where everything is done by hand.She creates hand made wallpapers like jewelry for the walls.The designer uses rice papers to which she applies 22 karat gold, silver or copper leaf. Her collection is distinctive for its soft palette and strong geometrics and has long been appreciated by decorators and architects.
 
Any Larkin was a rare combination of artist and entrepreneur who single-handedly built a global business, she occupies an important place in the modern design era. Her unique, hand pressed wall coverings, many composed of silver and gold leaf, are housed in the permanent collections of the Louvre's Decorative Arts Museum in Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and have been frequently featured in publications and installations worldwide.
